Read five books
At least four must be from the official Reading Makes Cents reading list. Reading can be solo, read with an adult, watched as a video recording or listened to while an adult reads aloud.

Submit your completed log by May 22, 2026
Submit online here or by mail. Entries must be received—or postmarked—by May 22, 2026.

Winners are selected at random across each of the seven VaASL regions. The prize is a tax-advantaged education savings account meant to grow over time. Terms and conditions apply and participants should review all program materials available at Invest529.

Encourage your school
If your child’s school isn’t participating yet, please reach out to their librarian or principal. Participation means free books and educational enrichment, and top-performing schools earn additional book awards.
